From 25th to August 27th 2015, Straight Talk Foundation through our Girls empowerment initiative Linda Dada Project will participate in a girls camp targeting 350 pupils in 7 primary schools in Samburu North organised by Caritas maralal (Catholic Diocese of Maralal). We are especially targeting classes 5-7. The venue shall be Baragoi Primary school. We intend to distribute sanitary towels and innerwears to the 350 girls and also participate in interactive sessions on Gender issues, HIV, issues of child labour, early and forced marriages etc.
About Linda Dada Initiative
This initiative provides mentorship and free sanitary towels to needy school girls as well as lifesaving information on HIV/AIDS prevention, we also provide the girl child with the essential information to adulthood through guidance, counseling and empowering them on their civic and sexual reproductive health rights. Linda Dada is Swahili for ‘protect the girl-child. Straight Talk Foundation has delivered to young girls over 20,000 sanitary pads during school visits which we have had since 2011 across the country.
