Nasser's journey started as a hawker with UGSH 50,000, selling mainly women clothes. With time he invested the profits from his hawking into sell clothes in larger quantities in bales. He further progressed and diversified by purchasing sewing machines to make dresses for sale. He also buys rolls of cloths materials which he sells to different wholesalers. Because he is not highly educated, Nassers hopes and wants to inspire the 15 youth that he employs to emulate his example and start their businesses in the future.

Currently, Nasser's business is closed because it is situated in a shopping arcade which was closed by a Gov't directive due to COVID-19. Because of the closure of his premises, Nasser has three (3) months rent arrears that are being demanded by the landlord. The landlord at his residence is also demanding for rent. He is already in a fix with no income for the past three (3) months, yet he has no option but to use his business capital to feed his family. Because of the forced unemployment, his employees too decided to move back to their villages where it is easier to find food. Nasser had invested resources in training them, and he is not sure if they will return or he will have to train new employees who will be able to deliver the same quality consistently as before.

As luck may have it, Nasser's sewing machine is helping him at this time. He has decided to venture into the business of making personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks which are now in high demand because the Gov't has allowed some limited movements for people as long as they are wearing a mask. This situation has opened his eyes and enabled him to see a new business opportunity that he can directly add to his existing business. He will not only make PPE's during the COVID-19 pandemic but continue to make any PPE needed in hospitals as long as he has the required materials.

Nasser needs funds to clear rental arrears for his business if no better agreement is arrived at with his landlord as well as funds to pay advance rent payments up to the end of this year 2020. He also needs funds to procure cloth material for his business as well as to invest in training new employees in case the previous ones don't return.

Please donate today to help Nasser achieve this. Thank you!
