MWANDA PRIMARY

Mwanda Primary school is located in the beauty of Kishambalocation in Taita Taventa County. The school that has brought up so many eloquent and vibrant people in the society seeks your help in pushing for SDG 4; Quality Education. We believe that the young people are the leaders of tomorrow and there is need for them to get quality education. Mwanda Primary hosts children who come from very poor backgrounds where the parents have no source of income but wish to see their children get the education that they did not get during their time.

Mwanda Primary has in the past faced so many challenges such as literacy programs that allow the students get books and stationery needed to ease their school work. The students lack uniforms and even shoes as so many walk to school barefooted and come from far off places just to acquire the basic education offered by the school even with the terrain that would stop them.A program was started by one James Kilinda to provide solar lamps to students from class 6 to class 8 where once they complete studies, the lamps are to be donated to the next bunch of students. This is because the students come from homes where they do not have electricity.

The school has seen itself produce very able students’ academic wise who seek to join high school but lack the funds to do so. Most of them not being the first born children and lack motivation from their homes as the education that seems important is the free primary education that’s offered by the government yet so many still cannot afford.

Even with such states, the school has managed to get all 2018 candidates accepted to Secondary  school level by the government. The parents cannot afford to pay school fees for their admission to Secondary schools. This is a plea to help these students pursue secondary school education and elevate the standards of their county and homestead. You and I have what it takes to help one child through their entire secondary school life through donations such as pledges for their school fees, uniform and the shopping that they need to ease their stay in school for the 4 years of their study.

Remember, we rise by lifting others and to those that give, so much is given back.
